Mountains of Home

This is a family-based unit from the Glasgow, Kentucky area. Managed by Terry O’Neal (keyboards), the group includes Kacey O’Neal (fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bass, keyboards), Caleb Isaac O’Neal (guitar), Shelane O’Neal (bass), Jesse Meador (banjo), and Justin Meredith (guitar).

The project includes a number of familiar tunes from a variety of sources like Larry Cordle, Blue Highway, The Stanley’s, Mac Wiseman, The Osbornes, and others. The songs folks will recognize are “Fraulein,” “Rank Stranger,” “Pikeville Flood,” “Highway 40 Blues,” “Lonesome Pine,” and “Ruby.” Others include “Big Steam Engine,” “The Mountains, My Baby And Me,” “I Wonder How The Old Folks Are At Home,” and the title “Mountain Of Home.”

The band is very good and the intermingling of the vocals, instruments and arrangements makes for this a very pleasant listening experience. Look for lots more from this Kentucky band.
