Developing an approach for learning new tunes: Adam Schlenker

How you go about learning a tune will determine how far you can take it and how well you actually know the melody. Tabs can be great resources for ideas but they can also keep you from seeing the bigger picture if you aren’t careful. It this video I discuss and demonstrate my method for learning a tune and point out some things to watch out for using Billy In The Lowground as the reference tune. You’ll also find some arpeggios that will help you map out the fretboard for common chords/keys.
