Triple Shot
Growing up in Georgia, Reynolds liked rock and roll and performed around her home. While in college she discovered that country and bluegrass were the kinds of music she wanted to sing. In the 2000s, she moved to the Washington, D.C., area, found a home performing with local bluegrass bands and teamed up with banjoist Keith Arneson to form the Peace Run Band. She focused on songwriting during the COVID period and now has formed her own band, The Good Bygones.
On this debut project she is joined by Mark Schatz (bass), Danny Knicely (guitar), John Seebach (mandolin), Fred Travers (resonator guitar), Keith Arneson (banjo), Ron Stewart (fiddle), Michelle Hannan (vocals), and Randy Barrett (vocals). Her originals featured here include “Closer To You,” “Hold On,” “Not For Long” and “Gone For Good.” She gives Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’s “I Put A Spell On You” a new feel. Then there is Buffy Sainte-Marie’s “Piney Wood Hills,” and Nanci Griffith’s “I Wish It Would Rain.” Others include “Break My Mind,” “Be Here To Love Me” and “Mystery Train.” Her powerful vocals are supported by the talented cadre of players on this very, very nice debut project.
