The Jerry Garcia “A Bluegrass Journey” Exhibit Opening Weekend
Over the weekend of March 28-30, 2024, the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum opened up its newest exhibit—Jerry Garcia “A Bluegrass Journey” with a star-studded event that included many artists who had performed with Garcia over the years, including David Nelson, Peter Rowan, Eric Thompson, Pete Wernick and Maria Muldaur. In addition to enjoying the new exhibit, guests at the opening weekend event enjoyed music performed on Thursday evening by the Sam Grisman Project and, on Friday and Saturday nights, by the above-mentioned artists accompanied by Leftover Salmon as the house band and other special guests such as Jim Lauderdale, Ronnie McCoury, Evan McCoury, Kyle Tuttle, Jason Carter, Greg Garrison, Chris Joslin and more. Morning and afternoon sessions included panel discussions by many of the above-mentioned artists as well as Garcia biographers and family members. Screenings of the Long Strange Trip: Episode One and Grateful Dawg were also part of the morning sessions. Authors Dennis McNally and Susana Millman were on hand to sign books and the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum gift shop offered exclusive Garcia merchandise and vinyl albums.
Since “a picture is worth a thousand words” we will let these photos speak, in fourteen thousands words, about this once-in-a-lifetime event at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
