Still Time To Dream
Originally from Massachusetts, Amy Clay studied to become a classically-trained violinist. However, after moving to the San Francisco Bay area, she began getting into other styles of playing, like country and bluegrass music. She played with area musicians and attended local jams, and a few years ago she started writing her own material about subjects like life and relationships. To support this new project of her original compositions, she journeyed to Nashville where she sought the support of a strong group of local artists, to include Ashleigh Caudill (bass, harmony), Brandon Bostic (resonator guitar), Professor Dan Boner (guitar, harmony), Nate Lee (mandolin), and Ned Luberecki (banjo).
Clay’s impressive vocals and fiddle playing is featured throughout this eight-song collection, which is a nice mix of upbeat grassy tunes along with ballads and even some jazzy influence. Selections include the title “Still Time To Dream,” “You’re My Wrecking Ball,” “Last Summer,” “When I Love You,” “And I Know You Loved Me,” “In This Quiet With You,” and “Built In The 70’s.”
Love gone wrong and love gone right is the basis of many of the songs and, along with the support of the talented musicians, makes this a very pleasant debut project from Amy Clay.
