Mountain Fever MFR230200

In 2019, while Troy Boone and the late Aaron “Frosty” Foster were regularly performing at a local Tennessee distillery, they decided to put together an album project of the popular tunes they had been playing. However, it was near the end of these sessions that Foster passed away. Foster had played guitar, while Boone played mandolin and both shared the lead vocals. They were joined in the studio by Brady Wallen (banjo, vocals), Daniel Greeson (fiddle, vocals), and Aaron Ramsey (bass), and guests included Rickey Wasson (vocal), C.J. Lowandowsky (vocal), Ron Stewart (fiddle), Avery Welter (vocals), and Jereme Brown (vocals).

The project is a mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass with a solid presentation throughout. The tunes on this collection are well-known to many and include “Tiny Broken Heart,” “Fox On The Run,” “County Fool,” “Gotta Travel On,” “Uncle Pen,” “Long Journey Home,” “I’m Head Over Heels In Love With You,” and of course “Rocky Top.”  This is a very nice project of favorites from Boone and Foster, and is a very nice tribute to the late “Frosty” Foster.
