Never Gets Old
After moving to Nashville in 1987, Irwin set to developing his songwriting talents. It took a few years while working as a bartender and collaborating with other writers, that he finally landed some songs that were recorded by folks like Randy Travis, Alan Jackson. Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, and Jimmy Buffett. It was Alan Jackson’s award-winning recording of “Here In The Real World,” co-written by Irwin, that made him one of the go-to writers in the area and his songs were picked up by folks like George Jones, Faith Hill, and others.
On this new six-song project, Irwin (guitar, vocals), is joined by Park Chisolm (guitar, keyboards, mandolin, percussion, vocals), Adam Wright (guitar, keyboards), and Josh Dubin (resonator guitar, pedal steel). For background vocals there is Sara Beck, Jenn Schott, and James Slater. All six selections are co-written by Irwin and include “Is It Drunk In Here,” “Love Works,” “Happyville,” “Heaven For A Day,” “Back To Me,” and the title cut “Never Gets Old.” This collection, produced and mixed by Chisolm, showcases some really nice songs by Irwin, and are arranged and recorded in a laid-back style with emphasis on guitar and resonator guitar with mixes from the other instruments and vocals.
