Donna Ulisse is an award-winning singer-songwriter who lives in Nashville, Tennessee. She was influenced by the bluegrass sounds of the Stanley Brothers, and spent time in the Clinch Mountains of Virginia and other areas, learning the source of those sounds of the music that she has come to love. Her songs have brought her renown, as some have made the music charts as well as being nominated for and winning song writing awards.

In addition, Ulisse has also gained nominations and awards for her singing. Her songs have become popular among other artists, being recorded by folks such as Doyle Lawson, Claire Lynch, Larry Stephenson, Christy Cox, The Grascals, Del McCoury and others.

Now with the release of this fourteenth project, she continues with a new host of original songs that reflect her love for the mountains, relationships and life. She is accompanied on this project by Greg Davis (banjo), Jake Stargel (guitar), Jason Barie (fiddle), Nate Burie (mandolin), Evan Winsor (bass) and Jeff Partin (resonator guitar). Guest vocals include Rick Stanley, Jerry Salley and Jimmy Fortune.

The album’s title comes from her song “Where The Mountain Lilies Grow,” and there is “It’s A Lovely, Lovely World,” “Safe,” “Didn’t Time Drag,” “Nothing Between You and Me,” and the Gospel “My Constant Savior” (with Jimmy Fortune). And too, there is “Ain’t No Sleeping In This House” and “The Trees Came Falling Down.”

With Ulisse’s clear vocals, great instrumental backing, and harmony vocals, this new project will continue to cement her great reputation as not only a superb songwriter but as a great singer.
