Living In The South
This is a nice traditional project by this Kentucky-based brother duo, which highlights not only some other ‘brother acts,’ like the Delmore’s, Louvin’s, and Stanley’s, but also features selections from such folks as Bill Monroe, Roy Acuff, Scotty Wiseman, and others.
Twins brothers Adam and Aaron have gathered together some great side men to round out this effort. Besides Adam (bass, vocals) and Aaron (guitar, resonator guitar, banjo, steel, piano, vocals), they are joined by Michael Cleveland (mandolin, fiddle), Steve Cooley (banjo), Jeff Guernsey (fiddle), and Jess Hall (drums).
The brother duets are prevalent throughout on selections like Acuff’s “Do You Wonder,” the Delmore’s “Banks Of The Rio Grande,” the Louvin’s “When I Stop Dreaming,” and Hugh Moffatt’s “Rose Of My Heart.” Other tunes include are “Remember Me,” “Place in the Sun,” “Let Me Rest,” and “Night Rider’s Lament.”
Overall, this is a very pleasant project from these talented brothers who have been playing this music for many years.
