I Gotta Minute (And Other Songs From A Pandemic)

From the Baltimore, Maryland area, the Union is Andy Belt (guitar, banjitar, vocals), Jon Ackerman (resonator guitar, lap steel), Tony Bonta (banjo, vocals), Noah Heming (guitar, vocals), Shawn Heming (mandolin, vocals), and Dave Markowitz (bass). Belt wrote or co-wrote all the songs on this project for which the title indicates much of the material came about during the pandemic, where getting together to record was limited. Belt is also the lead singer with backing harmonies from the others. Selections include title cut “I Gotta Minute”, along with “Oh My Darlin’”, “Heavy”, “So They Say”, “Poor Patricia Rose”, “Song Is In The Wind”, “Ballad of Jerry’s Belvedere”, and “All Over Now” with guests Chris Bentley (vocals) and Gary Backhaus (viola). Belt has a strong vocal delivery and the others blend well, and there is an interesting mix of the different instrumentation on the various cuts. The liner notes are limited with only song titles and band members listed.
