This is a gospel release from this Tazewell, Va.-based band. Founded by Ebby and Teresa Jewell, the group has been together for over 44 years and has a long love for traditional music, especially gospel. Ebby plays banjo and guitar, while Teresa contributes lead and harmony vocals. They are joined by Ervin Compton (guitar, vocals), Ryan Lester (mandolin, vocals), Ricky Kennedy (bass, vocals), and Dean Jackson (guitar, vocals). This many singers gives the group a large range of vocal styles including bluegrass and folk.

Listeners will hear songs from the public domain including “Leaning On The Everlasting Arms,” “Softly And Tenderly,” “Are You Washed In The Blood Of The Lamb,” and “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.” The Jewells contribute a number of originals including the title-cut “My Daily Prayer.” Others include “I’m Going To Heaven Some Old Day,” “He Will Conquer Despair,” “Come To The Alter,” and “I’ve Walked This Road Alone.” Folks looking for some new gospel material will find this a great source.
