Going Under

This is another of the bands from the Kentucky, Ohio Valley area who are making a name for themselves. The group consists of Chris Abell (guitar, vocals), Alex Abend (bass, vocals), Blythe Dahlem (mandolin, vocals), Sam Sanford (banjo), Dustin Taylor (lap steel), and Tristan Howard (pedal steel). 

Their original songs cover the gamut of vintage themes, dance tunes, and modern sounds while forging together the feelings of bluegrass, country, and rock. The selections on this project from the band includes the title “Going Under,” then “Behave,” “In A Million Years,” “Fly In The Modelo,” “Sober,” “These Dreams,” “Love and Morphine,” “There’s A Bear in Daviess County,” “Tom Wade” and the instrumental “Old Travoy.” 

This is a nice new project which features the band’s songs, arrangements, and presentation, allowing the banjo, mandolin, and guitar to shine while including some very tasteful use of the steel players.
