Life’s Parade
Rick Faris is a well-known, award-winning singer-songwriter. He spent 11 years as a member of Special Consensus, and his own Rick Faris Trio has traveled the US, Europe, the UK, and Canada. He recently opened his Faris Guitar Co. in Owensboro, Kentucky, where he focuses on his business and continues writing and recording.
This new project is the fourth solo outing for Faris, and he is joined by a host of guest artists on a variety of the cuts. On mandolin, there is Dan Tyminski, Harry Clark, and Henry Burgess, and on banjo, he has Ron Block, Russ Carson, and Gibson Davis. Complimenting the group on fiddle are Laura Orshaw and Maddie Denton, while on bass there is Mark Schatz, Dennis Crouch, and Faris’ brother JimBob.
The majority of the songs on this project are co-written by Faris and fellow songwriter Rick Lang, and includes “Bend, Don’t Break,” “Storm Clouds,” “On The Right Track,” “The Sound of Lonely,” “Story Of My Life,” “Words In This Song,” “You Don’t Know What You’re Missing,” and “Can’t Remember To Forget.” There is “Rabbit Hole,” co-written with Mark Brinkman, and “Bridge of Dreams,” co-written with Evan Dickerson, and Faris offers his own “Lonesome Is Your Name.”
Faris’s vocal is featured throughout, backed by the highly talented studio musicians. On this fourth project, Faris proves again what an entertaining talent he is.
