Something He Can Handle
Kentuckian Michael Prewitt (mandolin, guitar) is a former member of Special Consensus and has toured with them both nationally and internationally. He also has been nominated a couple of times for IBMA’s Momentum Instrumentalist Of The Year.
On this, his second album, Prewitt features not only his instrumental prowess, and his clean baritone vocals, but he also highlights his good songwriting skills. He is joined in the studio by Dan Eubanks (bass), Brady Wallen (banjo, guitar), Aaron Bibelhauser (guitar, resonator guitar), and Jeff Guernsey (fiddle).
Earlier releases from this project included Prewitt’s “Boulevard of Regret” and “Put The Bottle Down,” and Will Sear’s “Dark Clouds On The Cumberland.” Other Prewitt originals include “Son of 2 A.M.,” “Winnipeg,” “If I Had A Horse,” “Far Gone From Here,” and “Last Loon On The Lake.” He also has covered the traditional “What’s The Matter With The Mill,” and Kris Kristofferson’s “Just The Other Side of Nowhere.”
Prewitt’s easy style is foremost on this project both with full band arrangements or just with him on guitar and mandolin. This a very pleasant new project from Michael Prewitt.
