Sleep A Thousand Years
Twin brothers Aaron and Adam Bibelhauser are from Louisville, Kentucky, and have spent many years in the music business. Aaron sings and plays guitar, banjo, resonator and steel guitars, and piano. Adam sings and plays the bass. Aaron is also a songwriter, session musician and radio host. His songs have been recorded by artists such as Balsam Range, Michael Cleveland and Del McCoury.
The brothers provide what is described as the “sibling” harmony with their combination of Adam’s lead along with Aaron’s blending vocal style. Helping out on this project are Jeff Guernsey (mandolin) and Steve Cooley (banjo) along with guest Dale Ann Bradley. The project kicks off with the title cut from Aaron and features Dale Ann Bradley with her harmony vocal. Other selections from Aaron include “Blue Collar Dreams”, “Wrangell Mountain” and “No End Love.”
The rest of the project is created from well-known and lesser-known tunes such as “Dooley,” “Place In The Sun,” “Last Thing On My Mind,” “Southbound,” “A Night Rider’s Lament” and “Wyoming Child.” It closes with a holiday song “Christmas For Cowboys.”
While based on bluegrass traditions, the arrangements from the group add a more contemporary feel to the recordings. This is a nice new effort from the Bibelhauser Brothers.
